Zero takes on a wide range of projects from rebranding to building digital infrastructures and ecommerce sites to producing live events. It’s more interesting that way, & keeps us nimble.
Our breadth of experience gives us a nuanced understanding of the current landscape - and the multitude of considerations across the customer journey. These insights place Zero in the unique position of having the expertise associated with a specialist, along with the big-idea thinking & level of execution of traditional advertising agencies and design shops.
We treat branding, design & marketing as fundamentally linked & create brand experiences that feel familiar yet new. They have to resonate. They should acknowledge contemporary culture while also proposing a new narrative. Sometimes we get in our heads about this stuff. We trust this process.
Our team has worked with a variety of notable clients ranging from household names like Google, Foursquare, Hillary For America, Conde Nast, & Versace, to startups and non-profits.
Mark co-founded Zero and serves as the studio’s Creative Director, leading the design teams at Zero. Mark possesses the innate ability to lead teams and guide the creative process, as well as contribute as a hands-on team member - designing and creating many of the projects at Zero. Mark has over a decade of experience, working at large traditional advertising agencies, small digital design firms and in-house in publishing companies. Mark currently serves as a jury member on industry-leading organizations Awwwards.com and CSS Design Awards. Mark is writing this bio about Mark and it makes him feel funny. He’s had the privilege of leading, mentoring and learning among diverse teams—resulting in some amazing and award-winning creative and experiences. Mark has worked with a variety of notable clients ranging from major household names like Google and Conde Naste to startups and small businesses. All of which presented interesting and challenging problems to solve. Mark strives to make fresh and innovative work that actually works and have as much fun as possible during the process.
Joseph F. Delaney III
Joseph is the Co-Founder and Managing Director at Zero Studios. Coming from a background of strategy, user experience, and technology, his passions lie in delivering contemporary products. He's been working in the agency world here in NYC for over 8 years with previous gigs at Wondersauce, Area 17, and Canvas.
Joseph is always looking for new and unique challenges for emerging brands, business models and human behavior. Coupled with his passion to achieve contemporary and human-centered design experiences, he enjoys the service aspect of working with individuals and brands. Joseph has built his career on servicing clients to empower their values and achieve an enjoyable & collaborative working experience. He excels at crafting unique problem-solving processes that are suited to the challenge at hand while staying grounded in empathy for clients and users alike.
Lastly, Joseph is a firm believer in achieving an enjoyable and open process with his internal teams in order to fully realize progressive work.
Art Director/Brand Strategist
Chelsea leads design and strategy at Zero. Since the start of her career she has had a diverse creative background working as an art director and designer in the worlds of design, advertising and event marketing. Prior to helping launch Zero, she led design for digital advertising and video on the digital team at Hillary for America in Brooklyn, New York; the campaign to help elect Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States.
She cares deeply about human-centered design and using empathy as a tool for design and business. Chelsea has traveled around the United States to speak about her experience designing for a political campaign and the importance of design in creating change for the better.
Chelsea grew up in the midwest and graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in Communication Design, where she has also taught classes in design and illustration. She is currently a part-time faculty member at Parsons School of Design, teaching branding to undergraduate students.
Branding is at the root of everything we do. We believe our understanding of brands and how they should communicate across the consumer customer journey is what sets us apart.
